True, they are liabilities too. I'm not saying we should continue pumping gas around. But if such pipelines get blown up, it's merely annoying and disruptive.

With radioactive fuels it's just a different league, and the damage would stay with us for a long time.

Until we know how to build reactors that can safely be blown to bits without serious consequences, we shouldn't build them.

In general, the 'technical fix' isn't going to be the solution to the problem we face.
