I've heard and read a lot today about Trump being "insane." I'm not saying he isn't, but the choice of an imperialist regime to seize resources they have the power to seize is a rational one. There are policies and positions the Trump regime is irrational about. This is not one of them. Seizing control of oil infrastructure and other natural resources is highly profitable for those who have the power to do so. That doing so violates international law is irrelevant to those who get away with it.
