Now, juxtapose that effort with the relentless, years long effort people in the fedi engage in to go after Black folks. Compare the meek criticism of a place known for protecting bad actors versus the consistent hate campaign against something like #TheBadSpace.

See that difference?

That’s how racism works and protects itself.

Actual bigots causing harm get way less attention and heat than the targets of their bigotry.

I want people to remember this scenario when people dismiss the fedi as a viable destination for every day folks.
