My day job is now all teams and outlook, but our teams chats history gets purged after 90 days, and something similar with email except I haven't fully figured out the rules. I guess there are corporate liability or storage reasons for this. At work anyway it is insanely hard to dig back any old email or message or sharepoint document. Most of the time I just give up if the document isn't in my "recents" list. A lot of things in tech seem less ideal than they used to be, but we bumble along and somehow manage.
