Because I'm working in a direction on opensource project(s) that if successful would compete directly with products that the official board has a conflict of interest with. It could harm their businesses if it was successful. This is my guess. Since the actual board *is public knowledge, it is one of the only pieces of information I have with which to speculate on (in addition to the vague denial letter that simply said, was not selected).
