Also, I found a go-around that almost always works when your call is answered by a voice-recognition system. When the stupid computer asks what the purpose of your call is, speak mock-asian gibberish. The prompt will respond "I didn't quite catch that".
Repeat the stream of gibberish. You may need to do this 3-4x.
