That still works.
In earlier Android Versions you could also turn that on seperately for your Homescreen / App Launcher which you cant anymore.
If you hace an App open in Landscape and then go to your Homescreen, the Screen shows everything in Portrait and when you open a App again, it turns back to Landscape
