It's more complex than that. They say what sells (they need acceptance of new laws), but in reality is that a small group want to increase their influence or their own individual position/power to rule the masses.
The highest form of capitalism is "MONOPOLY"
Monopolies => "Is the highest form of capitalism, and their goal is to destroy competition! THEY HATE COMPETITION, + without competition they don't need to adapt or make their products better. They even can make their products worse and at the same time make more money "= enshittification".
