This is my main issue with onchain zaps. The fees aren't a percent of the amount they are based on the size of the transactions data so if it's a small sat amount that fee to send it can cost more than the amount it's even for.

Lightning is supposed to fix this because you open a channel with a much larger amount so this is never an issue.

This is also why people tell you to open channels, close channels and consolidate UTXOs when on chain fees are low.

It saves money but also makes sure your shit is spendable in the future.
You pay per input, if your inputs are 1200 sats and the fee is 5sat/vB, the fee per input will be 1500 sats (ie, they can't move)
