last summer while on a camping trip in northern Quebec we went on a hike and got lost. Took us 6 hours to manage to get back to the car. There was a children summer camp near by but I’m not sure if they had radios. But regardless, that experience definitely left me shook and realized we need robust resilient communication devices when our modern tech fails (as our phones had no connection at all to reach out to anyone)
I tried to whistle SOS in Morse across the lake but no one heard
