Excellent post and my aversion as well. Utility has become the driving force behind aesthetics. Or so they will promote. But anyone looking at the history of architecture knows this doesn’t hold water. Design can enhance wholeness without compromising on function, it just isn’t taught that way any longer and so the discourse has shifted and we’re left with minimalism as “good” instead of beauty.
