if you don't down them with an attack, you might've still made them bleed, and eventually they can bleed out

if you downed them, you'd better be careful, because they might still be able to get back up again (just like you can) so remember to double-tap and watch for subtle tells that the enemies are still alive

and, if you're fighting an enemy with armor, you'd better be using something that can pierce through that armor. a shotgun, SMG, or pistol isn't good enough
