President Biden was the escape route from fascism. He restored our economy, institutions, and public health.
But voters threw that away out of racism, tantrum, counterproductive protest, and indifference.
There is no way back. What comes next will be a different country, and maybe more than one.
We may have different visions for that, but it is going to have to be bigger and grander than simply “winning the midterms” and putting duck tape on “the union” and old institutions.
