Tangential (though you have to read the book to know why): back in the old days before Arduinos I built a vampire robot using a 68000 micro processor and a hacked Nintendo Game Boy camera. It was a vampire because looking for the angles of a cross and running away was the easiest behaviour I could think of to code up.
