I spent almost TEN YEARS looking for another answer.
What I came up with is that we're going to do a revolution, or capitalism is going to kill at LEAST 3B people and we're all going to be living in a dystopia that makes Blade Runner look like a picnic because at least the slaves in that society were robots - we ain't robots.
There literally IS no other answer.
