going with emulation would lead to abysmall performance for anything that does use those instructions. And if you just want to avoid those instructons, just make a new ISA ;)
It is an interesting idea, but i ha e trouble believing it will ever be more than that.
Although if making some of those much less used instructions slower would allow for a smaller, faster, or more efficient core, that would be an interesting option to AMD or Intel
