Writing a letter to over a decade-long estranged family is difficult. But I opted to break out a new pen and find a somewhat neutral ink.

I recently picked up the new Monteverde Innova Green carbon fiber. It joins the original black/gray that I have. It writes very smooth with a steel Medium nib, and I really enjoy the weight and form of the Innova line. Classy, but not over the top.

I paired it with the Noodler's Liberty's Elysium. I did not pick it for the name as much the color, but there is a certain irony of it.

I used my light up tracing pad with a printed out line reference so I could write on blank paper. Works extremely well for that. I'd highly recommend getting one if you don't have it. There are plentiful versions and they are not too expensive.
