I met a doctor for my follow-up appointment after my last ICU stay, and she was the most condescending doctor I’ve ever interacted with. For over 30 minutes, I spoke only 4-5 sentences, and she spent the entire time sharing her perspective (which seemed to minimize the seriousness of my condition). She didn’t even let me finish the basics, like answering, “How are you doing?”
