to be clear, it was a really awesome little paddling trip, up-slough with the tide and then back down-slough with the tide but against the wind, which was interesting

honestly I enjoy a bit of a sufferfest now and then, and it's been a while since I pushed myself physically rather than mentally or emotionally, so it's all good

but I'm glad I drifted up and saved my energy for paddling down...I needed it, dang, that was actually challenging
