It's been a highly unusual year: this is the first I've been able to grow hakurei or daikon in the summer. They are quick growing spring/fall vegetables, and In all prior years they died from the heat shortly after germination. I'm hopeful now that I can make tsukemono using entirely veggies from the garden.
