At what point does morality actually matter?
Moral arguments supersede consequences. That is the power of morality.
“If we end slavery then who will pick the cotton!?”
Answer: no clue. Doesn’t matter. Slavery is immoral.
Reality: we’ll develop metal monsters that burn ancient crushed tree juice to automate away the manual labour.
The moral argument is our compass to use because the future is unpredictable.
If the moral argument is correct, like a perfectly tuned compass, you will find yourself navigating to the future with the optimal circumstances.
