I am often asked, "Why is Nostr so popular in Japan?" I think not.

To increase retention, the Nostr community in Japan is working on translation and support for non-technical beginners.

Occasionally, people who are interested in Nostr come to visit from Twitter and other social media, but the retention rate is low and they return to Twitter.

Many Twitter users in Japan are currently looking for a social media to migrate to, and Nostr is just one of the candidates. In most cases, Threads, Misskey, and Bluesky are the most likely candidates.

The majority of users currently active in the Japanese community are developers. They are interested in the technical aspects of Nostr.
