This graph shows the "Ratio of corporate capital gains to total revenue by sector" comparing Finance, insurance and real estate (NAICS codes 52 and 531) with everybody else.

It's not homeowners who are gouging the market, it's only the capital investors.

The same ones represented by such organizations as the quoted Realtors and Home Builders associations.
