I wish there were recipes aimed at beginners that actually explain everything you need to do.
Like take this recipe I was trying to do earlier (without the eggs) https://ottolenghi.co.uk/pages/recipes/camping-style-japanese-lentil-curry It does not say that you need to cut BOTH ends of the leek, and that you need to wash the potatoes after peeling them. I had to watch someone do this recipe once to learn that this was the case.
Cooking recipes expect that you already know how to cook. I hate that. Makes me feel that I can never trust them
