In the US and a few other countries with antiquated First Past the Post voting systems a third party is structurally disadvantaged, and in the US particularly, in all cases a spoiler vote, or at best only symbolic — equal to not voting at all

If a person wants to change that it would take either probably incredibly bloody revolution, or changes starting smaller in election reform law for proportional representation and such, leading up to Constitutional amendment
