On the other hand one could argue that no colours exist outside the eyes and brains of animals (e.g. humans). Also, historically, different communities have had differing opinions as to what constitutes a distinct colour (e.g. 'blue' in Classical Greece). The modern human construct we call colour is just weird and complex on every level. :-)
