unfortunately this situation would have a tragic end. since the gotek was upside down, when i plugged in the molex power connector as i have done a thousand times in my 5150, i plugged it in the "right way", which was, of course, backwards now.
This sends +12V to places that +12 has no business going. Now my 1000 cannot read floppy drives.
