I'm trying to understand why neutrino oscillations would help gold creation. Neutron stars are all neutrons, so in order to get gold you'd need to produce protons. These could come from beta decay, which also produces electron anti-neutrinos. These could oscillate into muon anti-neutrinos, which would prevent them from turning protons back to neutrons + positrons. Is that what's happening?
