I wrote earlier about how the system needs options more than simply finding defendants not guilty. In my opinion, juries should be able to find that someone was maliciously prosecuted. They should be able to rebuke the system itself and to levy fines against it. They should be able to compensate defense lawyers and award punitive damages. The prosecutorial system should fear that the laws that they're trying people under are fundamentally at odds with the will of the actual people.
