Alright nerds, help me out here. I've got a sealed booster box of a very old Magic: The Gathering set that I bought in the mid 90s. It's just been sitting there gaining value, which is very nice.
Fast forward ~30 years. Yesterday I had a very expensive spinal surgery that my insurance is too shitty to have covered to any significant degree. So I'm wondering what might be the best way to sell this very desirable collectible in a way that gets me top dollar. It might even cover the whole procedure if I play my uhhhh cards right.
Anyway, eBay skeeves me out with their 3rd party authentication services, especially with something this valuable. The seller just doesn't have much control once the listing closes. Online marketplaces like tcgplayer might be an option, but I've never used them to sell anything. There are a couple local game shops I could walk into and start a conversation. I really just don't know.
Anyone have thoughts? Big bonus if y'all just know someone specific who might want to work out a deal one-on-one !
