There seems to be a lot of believe that some sort of fascist coup has taken place in the US. From over here, the UK, this looks bizarre. The new administration has slashed funding to things that I quite like, such as overseas aid, the WHO and cancer research. That seems like neo liberalism on steroids to me and not the the creation of a corporate state.
DEI is out. Undeniably a trumpeting of their white supremacist views. I am sure though that the vast majority of both the world and the oppressed of the US don't have strong opinions on the race, gender or sexuality of the person shooting them in the face.
I had seen a lot of shocking stuff about ICE raids. This is very bad. I also checked out the numbers. There have been about 100,000 deportations this year. If that continues, the US is on track to deport about the same number of people as in 2023 and less than 2021 or 2022. (Far more than last time this guy was in the White House. No wonder Harris and friends tried to sell themselves as the real party of immigration control).
