Both probably. Being a kid smooths every era. But the adults in the 1990s were not having a bad time of it either. Cheap houses, stable work, a phone that stayed on the wall. A slower pace. But also the early Internet, and a genuine excitement and optimism about the future. At least when viewed through my nostalgia.
