Do the work buy some ph strips instead it costs pennies and takes the guess work out and will help correct some of the false assumptions in this chart. You might have alkaline sand or not acidic enough peat to grow blueberries for example. I have never had a problem growing rosemary or lavender in clay.

Infact my clay soil is on limestone so you might assume it's alkaline right? But in reality its slightly acidic.
