Back in the 80s, there was "ADHD" and "ADD". "ADD" was basically "ADHD but not as hyper", and in practice it meant "ADHD, but for girls".
I was given the "ADD" label because I wouldn't pay attention but I'd sit quietly in class, and almost any time it came up someone would add "that's very unusual for a boy"

(I was later upgraded to an autism dx, because you couldn't have both then and my magic ability to act like a girl pushed me out of the ADD dx.)
