I have someone that isn’t presently in my life much, but he used to be a friend but was too zany to keep close. In any case, I stay in touch. He’s likely a true genius, but that annoying kind of genius that never does anything useful with his smarts and squanders his life dabbling in 1,000 things and getting into trouble with the law.

Recently, he produced a 70+ page AI-slop generated thesis full of crazy theories and postulates in the flavor of a theory of everything. The authors are his pseudonym and 7 other identities that are described in detail, each of which is an AI personality he built on different LLM platforms to form a DAO.

Did I mention he really loves amphetamines?

It is an astounding document in volume with formulae, references to philosophers and DMT and quantum physics—basically anything you one time encountered, found interesting, and moved on from that you can imagine.

I don’t know why I’m writing this but I think it’s because there’s a part of me that’s jealous that this bizarre person who apparently has loads of secret money squirreled away just spends all day doing amphetamines and reading and writing screeds on whatever he’s interested in. Ultimately he’ll accomplish nothing important, will never have a family, and probably end up back in prison, but he is definitely having a blast.
