A nice case study I always like to mention on here about GDP is Germany. 3rd highest GDP in the world (though dwarfed immensely by the US and China), twice that of Italy. Yet old people sometimes have to browse trash cans for drinking cans to deposit for extra money. If your elderly have to live this way, what difference does it make if GDP number go up? Well a lot for (((them))) of course.
