I gave up on Final Fantasy with VII.
I even helped with a ROM hack fan translation of one of the Famicom vintage FF games.
I will say, it was fun to watch Ziggy the Hamster ☎️ 4ZTH (npub1ul4…5ksf) stream some of the FFVII remake but I still haven't dropped another cent into that franchise personally.
