I think you could make a case for "it's discovered" and "it's embodied" at the same time.

The underlying structures of mathematics are all latently there. But we discover and use the ones that fit our cognition (which in turn is highly embodied and contextual) and overlook or reject the ones that don't.

There's any number of ways to represent multidimensional points and angles for instance, but we use the ones that make sense to us. A different creature may pick different ones.
