I have discovered a new way of dealing with phone scammers. Concerned that they may be recording my voice to try to scam automated services, I have taken to wailing/moaning, unintelligibly, in the style of Pingu’s dad having a stroke.
For example:
Scammer: Hello sir, I am calling from [your mobile phone provider]
Me, faintly: Wojdh ghboeghbhhh!
Scammer: Uh, can you speak up a bit please?
Me, louder: WOJDH GHBOEHBHHH!
I recommend it.
