As I explained yesterday, the Talbot Matra Rancho pioneered the space frame/GRP construction that was then used in the Renault Espace. When Renault took Espace production in-house instead of using Matra, the Avantime, which used Espace style construction, was supposed to keep the production lines at Matra going. Anyway here are links (see also (3/3) to my previous posts on the Espace which fill the gap between the Rancho and the Avantime in the Matra story. (2/3)
