Well, lots of schools were attacked. I was at one too. But I guess you mean the very famous videos of the cops assaulting people sitting on the stairs, dragging women by the hair and jumping on peoples heads. That was intense.
If you were a foreigner here during that time you probably got wrapped up in the honest and more wholesome wave of popular enthusiasm. I've been pro-independence since I was first politically aware, so I have always had a more cynical view of our "leaders", their intentions, and their behavior before, during and after 2017.
It's a sad state of affairs and I have long moved on with my life. Not interested in helping those who don't want to help themselves, and risking a lot in the process as I did those days.
