The discourse and mainstream messaging around conversion therapy is so dumb.
"It changes sexual preference so it's not a therapy"
"LGBT is not an illness"
This misses the point: society is wrong in having a "mental health bible" of illnesses that all psychologists consult religiously to see if a patient is "truly ill".
The measure of mental disease ("dis ease") is whether it hurts the patient.
If the patient is unhappy with their sexuality, they should be able to get it cured.
