Someone boosted this Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy quote which I didn't recognize at first. Turns out that's because it's from Mostly Harmless, which I've read maybe twice.
I refuse to read it again because it's just too depressing. It also retroactively sours my view on Trillian in previous books, due to her child neglect. The only way I can mentally dance around that is to pretend Mostly Harmless is simply not canon.
