Okay four hours into the seven hour hearing. Really interesting tbh. PSA airlines (the Airline that owned the plane that was hit by the Blackhawk) now is asking the very valid question of why the helicopter routes weren't changed and for what reason. FAA doesn't have a satisfying answer. Asked if military and ATCs had a written standard operating procedure saying helicopter aren't to take that route when there are planes landing. They respond no. The army dude said they would always stop and not cross paths but when NTSB interviewed other pilots in the battalion there was disagreement.
