Hi,
if you can see steps (although not updating) your services are fine and installed already. Google is writing those APIs for the hardware connection. If there ever was a party able to write those we'd be glad to use them.
Anyways, we are trying to fix the stuck counter. Did you try swiping the app off the task manager (closing the app for good) and re-opening?
