We’re talking about the turn of the millennium here, so everything got a bit more “realistic” and often with a touch of conspiracies – this was White Wolf after all. Alternity with its Star*Drive was the more classic one.

The problem with sci-fi RPGs is that they’re often rather one-off publications, and published adventures are especially rare, so I had to include corner cases. FTL Space Opera that’s *not* a franchise is rare in general, and even more so in that era. (It’s a *retro* genre, so unsurprisingly it got a lot bigger in the *retroclone* era, although even then you’d be hard pressed to find games that aren’t just limited to the core rules and maybe a setting/tech guide)
