I often feel like the old-timer these days but I don't think you can emphasize enough the importance of an easy-to-use and comprehensive "discovery" system for the Fediverse. The success of pioneering platforms such as UseNet, FTP, and (yes) the World-Wide-Web hinged on the early implementation of "directories" such as Archie, JumpStation, and Yahoo.

That vast majority of people don't want to be Geeks. They simply want to be able to easily find, People, Places, and Things.
