The Pleroma was more akin to heaven. It is the realm that this physical realm was modeled on.
They saw the first act of creation as a seperation from what was whole. This division created the Pleroma itself, since before that there was nothing outside the Pleroma. The Demiurge was created out of this ignorance, who finding himself alone with no memory of the Pleroma creates this physical world. Strangely this new idea, this new creation was an imperfect replica of the Pleroma (the realm he has no awareness or memory of).
They believed that the first act & every subsequent act that followed was neither good nor evil.
It was simply ignorance.
