I was going through a few more videos I took last night and this one was pretty interesting for behaviour, too. A hare frolics joyfully before digging a shallow indent in the snow and flopping over happily.
Hares don’t burrow, but dig out shallow scrapes called “forms”. They’re very shallow hare-shapes indentations. Usually they are used to rest, sleep and hide. This one was for a playful purpose, something I’d not seen before.
