We will ignore people who think they have to defend systemd. They are afraid of something, obviously.

The question arises: why does one need such software to do what could be done by ordinary hacking? I could probably easily hack up such a system in efficient Chez Scheme.

But of course they make all the software dependent on systemd. It used to be you could use whatever init system you wished, and the software didn’t care. But not now.

It is like Microsoft. Except it is Linux doing it.
